A Tribal Ebony Ironwood Statuette of a Warrior with the 'Genuine Besmo Product, Hand Carved in Kenya' label attached. It is of a more uncommon and historic art form, representing a traditional and ancient past.
The shoulder constructs may have added protection from a good stick clubbing to the head and neck, as well as in lure of ornamentation to art in ritual.
The wood shows similar to what would have been hand cut and carved in the bush. A hole having formed in the raw tree stock, as well as a sliver missing, was too carved around and left intentionally by the artisan.
Possibly mid 1900s labeled and sold in market. The overall appearance is outstanding and respectfully formed.
